Happy New Year everyone. I was at the Titanic Belfast for the Titanic Royale, with my wife, cousin and her friend. Everyone was regally dressed in Cocktail dress. There was a drink on arrival, with street food served, entertainment by the James Peake Band, a casino, a piper bringing in the New Year and DJ playing tunes into 2016. The bar did a roaring trade!!!
Drinks on arrival was pink champagne, gin or fresh lemonade- which was very refreshing! The food was paella (excellent), pulled pork burgers (excellent), vegetable lentils with rice (OK), Thai green curry (bit bland) and noodles (very good), beef (didn't have) and fish and chips (brilliant). For sweets there were mini desserts (excellent), amazing ice cream and a sweety cart. As always amazing presentation (street food served in bamboo type trays and cartons) and superb service!!
The band was amazing and really got the crowd in the mood. The casino consisted of Chinese Craps, roulette and Black Jack. We each received a ticket worth $10000 (10 chips) which we gamed with. There was a prize for the person with most chips. Meanwhile James Bond clips were played on the screens and a photographer was taking pics with the iconic Bond backdrop.
The DJ counted us down with The Final Countdown song before the piper brought in the New Year. Carriages were at 1!! Then off to relieve the baby sitter. A wonderful way to bring in 2016!!!
