Lovely Italian

The BFM had a wonderful taste of truly delightful Italian food in an amazingly designed and authentically decorated two storey, 200 seater Italian Restaurant that is Fratelli.

60 Gt Victoria Street
Belfast
Bt2 7ab

This is the 4th incarnation as a restaurant and having been to the previous 3 (Bourbon, Victoria's and The Malt Room), it's simply the best!!!

Joanne the manager was very helpful and explained the menus, why the logo is a pig (as wild boar roamed around Fratellis in Ballymena),and served me and finished off by showing me a selection of desserts.

I was very surprised and gladly appreciated the complimentary arancini, bread sticks, olive bread and olive tapenade.

To follow it was pork fillet, sautéed potatoes, mushroom and porcini truffle cream with hint of Tarragon (£10 lunch, there is also an £8 and £6 lunch). It was served in a very large white round bowl not dissimilar to nouvelle cuisine, but the good thing was it was very filling!! The whole meal was very earthy, pork fantastically cooked and the tarragon and truffle with the porcine complimented it very well.

There is a separate a la carte evening menu after 5 pm and a set Christmas lunch and dinner menu. Downstairs will seat 100 as will upstairs. The decour was splendid with very ornate craftsmanship. The builders turned it round in 5 weeks!!

Fair play to the Galgorm Group.Visit my website for pictures.
Also check out their own site for offers etc.
