Vedanta in Glengormley

Vedanta Cuisine is the newest addition to the Indian dining establishments in Glengormley. The meaning of Vedanta is one of the six orthodox Schools of ancient Hindu Philosophy.

It was once Gnosh, a European Carvery restaurant. It is situated in the Wilsons Auction complex at Mallusk with plenty of free car parking. The owner Suresh's vision is to have a high quality Indian Restaurant in the evenings and casual dining during the day maintaining the Carvery facility.Restaurant is open for breakfast,Lunch (12.00-15.00) and dinner.

Suresh was a manager with the Taj Group (hotels and restaurants) in New Delhi. He came to UK in 2006 Where he worked for Jimmy Spices (International buffet chain). In 2011 he helped with launch of Nu Delhi in Belfast
then looked after Spice restaurant in Templepatrick before opening Vedanta Cuisine in November 2014. The chef is an experienced Indian chef of Jimmy Spices fame.

For lunch I opted for the buffet/Carvery. I had Chinese fried rice, noodles and chicken first. This was served on an oval plate which I'm told is what the frys are served on!! My second round white plate had chicken Jalfrezi, peppered chicken, pilau rice and a slice of roast pork with peas and onions. All in all a thoroughly satisfying lunch, plenty of good quality, tasty food. I am looking forwards to dining here in the evening time, to try some top class Indian food. The restaurant is a BYO and can accommodate private functions and outside catering too. The guys at Mallusk Auctions and Mallusk in general are lucky to have a top class restaurant on their doorstep!!!
